Default What is a Tab delimited File?

Re the above I have finally managed to work out how to do the bulk uploader spreadsheeet filling in the right colums with the correct information.
But I came to save it as per instructions Viz use save as and save as a tab delimited file, only problem I cannot find anything which says Tab delimited file,
Is it known by another name if so what is it please?or how do I save it as per instructions?

What application are you using to produce the file?

save the file with a name that ends .txt or.tsv . both those formats work as tab dilimated and can be 'imported' into excel very easily.
To import your saved file into excel:
    • Open excel
    • On the menu bar select 'file'
    • select 'open' you'll be prompted to find the file you want to open
    • search for the .txt or.tsv file you just saved and select it
    • say ok to anything that happens next!
    • You should now have an excel file in the same format as the bulk uploader, you can use this file to bulk edit thinks like postage, where you'll sell to etc..
    • Once you've finished editing. save the file again- as a .tsv or.txt
    • go to your ebid 'my bulk upload' area
    • upload your file

How are you editing it? You're not editing it in Internet Explorer are you?

If you're using Excel, then it's as HannaHolly says, if it's OpenOffice (ooCalc) then things are a lot more convoluted.

Thinks I am using Internet Explorer to edit it have got a bit further on got a file with .txt at the end but also .xls at the end

But getting there slowly thanks all for your time and trouble to help someone who really does struggle with the finer points
Thanks I will clear the lot and start all over again from scratch.
