Exclamation Search Engine - Too Specific

For Gazza to have a look at::

When using the search engine at the top of eBID i've noticed that the results are way to specific.
i.e. I have an auction with the word 'ROBOTS' in the title but when i input Robot into the search it doesn't show up with the product. The same with searching User names typing 'greenmason' will not find 'greenmasons'.
This could potentially result in some of my auctions being missed by customers because they forgot to add an S in the search. I understand i could remove it but then some of my titles wouldn't be correct.
Any chance the search could be modified so that it will recognise plurals? :-)

    Cheers!

The plurality of search terms is being worked on as we speak.

    Thanks

Before the upgrades to the search engine are completed, try using wildcards in your searches. Instead of ROBOT, use ROBOT* (note the asterisk) and you'll get every auction with ROBOT as part of the title - so that'll include ROBOT, ROBOTS, ROBOTIC and so on.

I think greenmasons point though was that the average user will show up here and enter "robot".

    Yes, I know.

Unfortunately the average user these days has little knowledge of how to correctly use a search engine. That is why the SE is being worked on.

I was suggesting a work-around that folks can use meanwhile. It was an attempt to educate rather than to solve the OP's issue.
