Looks OK to me, except for one thing:

The top part is the first bit you see until you scroll down, and it looks very much aimed at sellers. There are two very clear messages to encourage sellers (lifetime membership charges and selling fees), but NOTHING which encourages buyers to buy.

What is the clear simple message which should be near the top of the page, which gives a very strong impetus to buyers?

Don't know, off hand, but there should be one.

ebid = old-folks home, come and get your bowl of stuck together candy and mothballs.

Remember ebid web team there is no shame in visiting other on-line shopping sites for design inspiration , Please.
Yay, good to see you back for the Christmas festivities Brunwulf, I've missed you.

Oh hang on, they don't do Christmas decorations here despite years of asking do they ?! How come we don't get so much as a bauble when the Belgium site can provide snowflakes and even plays you Christmas carols on their homepage on Christmas eve ?!

I was saying as much in the thread on the hideous and pointless email they sent me. Just no style, flair or pizazz. A timeless, never changing look to the site as the years pass by.

There surely could be some seasonal theming to the site, even if just in the big green bar at the top. Though something could likely be done with the masses of whitespace.

I can remember asking for Christmas decorations when I first arrived back here in 2008 ! The only festive thing I can see on the site at the moment is the MyHermes advert that appears at the top of my screen which has a Christmas tree and presents on it !

    Drab, drab, drab.

Were this a B&M shop, buyers would walk past without a second glance.

Don't forget the buyers, eBid! Attract sellers by all means, but without buyers it becomes a useless exercise.

Sadly, eBid seems to be run not just by people with few marketing skills but by people who can't recognise their lack of such skills.

The only good thing about the redesign is that it is clear that there is stuff listed!
    Madelaine

4 shops for Cats Protection & Prospect Hospice
    My Postcard Shop
    BK Stamps for Philatelic listings
    & Yarnalong for craft patterns
    and
Lotzabitz -anything that doesn't belong in one of the other shops.

Yippee, I see we have our old page back again and the boring list of categories has gone thank goodness !
Could still do with some Christmas decorations though.
