Forum 'Share' buttons.

Does anybody use these? I can't see the point of them. All they seem to do is slow down the page loading as the myriad of buttons + counts are fetched from various sites, plus they cause the screen of my tablet to bounce around as individual buttons load (though the latter is likely eBid's poor coding).

If there must be social buttons I much prefer the type I have on my site (e.g. http://mootango.webspace.virginmedia.com/ebidkb.htm) which only requires a single image hosted locally and works for far more social sites. You don't see the counts, but is there any need for them anyway?

The ones on listings are also a bit of a untidy eyesore - though I can see the point of the facility to share being there. Again the one button option would be preferable.

I don't use them myself, but the question did get me thinking.

What would happen if we all shared, twittered etc the plug threads.

I posed the question as although I see no point to them I am not into this social media stuff (I just don't get it) but others who are may see the need. Even then a single button (either to a site such as AddToAny, eBid's own version of such, or a pop up with more buttons) would be preferable to the current untidy and problematic implementation.
