Haddon's A1 Gardens would stake your claim although it would not come up first in listings. Not much to change, just start answering the phone "Haddon's"!!

    AAA Gardens
You see this all the time in the phone books. Companies trying to be the first listing in the book.
Even had a lady in town legally change her last name to "A" so that she would be the first listing in the book. She is a bit....... off to say the least.

I prefer this suggestion the best rather than changing your name completely.

If you use a completely different name it is possible a number of your casual customers will not hear about it and might go to the cowboys by mistake thinking they are you. This could spoil any good reputation you have built up.
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else

What's in a Name? - quite a lot really. It needs to be meaningful, different and open to further development through advertising and merchandising.

    A suggestion: 'GROW HADDON'

Firstly 'Grow' identifies the basis of your business and identifies to the customer what they should be doing.
Using your name 'Haddon' puts your name on it - the business and the products - something any fly-by-night cowboy cannot use, and a name that should of course be registered as a Business Name and or your Trade Mark.

Secondly, in your advertising and some merchandising, you can add suffixes, such as
'Grow Haddon Seeds', Grow Haddon Flowers', Grow Haddon Vegetables'. et al.
The concept is a little different, and it is this difference that sticks in peoples' minds.
Not to worry unduly by alphabetical placing in Yellow Pages or the like - as long as entries are advertised on the correct section, a different type of entry such as this will stand out - too many use that bandwagon which is nowadays rather hackneyed.

A typical packet of your seeds could read:

    Grow Haddon
    Quality Seeds

    [Picture of plant]

Can I just say that while I can see you point, and with the sub-titles it looks fine, as a main title that just makes me want to say "no thanks, I've nowhere to keep one"
