Smile Ending Auction Early With A Bid

Is it possible to end your auction early with a bid on it in favor of the current bidder? Thanks--Betty

About 99.99% of my auctions that start with one bid, end with that same bid. In a year I have only had one or two get more bids, which is just the way that buyers buy here. So I think if you let this auction run its course, the bidder will win the item easily and you will not have to bother to end it early.

Not sure about ending early when it has bid(s) already. Someone else must know.

You can't end it early while it has a bid. You'd have to cancel the bid by black-balling the buyer, then take them off your blackball list to let them back on to bid on the new version of the listing (assume you then change the end time, add a Buy Now or whatever). It's a fair bit of faff, and you risk your buyer getting hacked off and not rebidding!

    Thanks Folks
The reason why we asked was when we were on eBay a lot of our customers would email us orders to list certain items and then we would end the auction in their favor before any more bids were entered.
The item was then shipped the same day for faster delivery-Betty

If you want to list a special customer order, just put it up as a Buy Now. I do this a lot and it works fine. Elsewhere there was a problem with fees to put you off this idea - it doesn't apply here.

I have a guy after a pen - if there had been a best offer button he would have made an offer, I would have made a counter offer and we would have settled for £50.

Instead, he nibbled away a couple of hours before the end of the auction, asked me a question which I answered and also told him the reserve was £50.

The auction ended with his bid of £45 and it automatically relisted,. He has just put the £50 on it but I can't end the auction in his favour. We both now have to wait 10 days!!

No Best Offer, no End Auction in Favour of Highest Bidder, eBid has a long way to go.

Not sure on this but...will it let you edit the end time of the listing? Say set it to end in two minutes from the present time.

It may not let you with a bid on it but I have a vague recollection of it being possible.

No - it won't let me change the end time.

You should have listed this auction with a Buy Now option. When there are no bids and someone comes along and wants it, buy now stops the auction.
When bids are placed, you can't change anything on the auction.

    I don't even respect them.

    Totally agree!...lol..donkey. Can't stop laughing.
