    Default Whats with all the bad photos

    I have been looking at some coins on here. I have found a couple of auctions that I would really be interested in if I could actually see the coins. They have a photo of all 3 at once from a distance where you can't even make out any details. Only one photo is present.;
    All of the persons auctions are like this. I would probably buy several of them if I could view the coins.,

    I have even gone so far as emailing them for better photos with no response,

    Perhaps they cant take a good photo! Using macro does take practice on the other hand in my Buying experience a bad photo is Sometimes used to mislead you into thinking its going to be much better than the photo but 9/10 its not which leads you to the conclusion that the photo was deliberately taken out of focus! I NEVER buy anything now that has a bad photo (Well out of focus)

    For coins, you should use a scanner for the pictures. Much better detail.

    Blurries are everywhere. Even on feebay where that top photo is now so small that if it is not crystal clear you can't tell what they are selling!

    That's a good idea. For some reason I'd never thought of scanning coins. I've done thousands of books and prints. Just tried it out with coins and it works really well. You can do a whole load at the same time too.

    That will mean 50-100 more coins on eBid in the next few days.

    If its small, and it doesn't have to be coins, try putting it on your scanner. If the lid won't close, don't worry, put something over the back of your items, such as 2 pieces of white legal paper and a few times I remember using a light blue pillow case. Whatever works. Small items will show much more detail on a scanner opposed to a camera.
