Me too, I think I have had it for 4 or 5 years. Not sure why they call it Premier, probably a way to get more fees out of us!!

I did switch to the micropayments a few days ago. Will wait and see if it makes a difference in fees.

Do you think "individual" accounts are for buyers, not sellers?

If that makes no sense, them explain this:

You recently requested to receive PayPal micropayments pricing. You made the request with a Personal PayPal account. Personal accounts are not charged a fee to receive payments. If you would like to receive micropayments pricing please make the request using a Business or Premier PayPal account. You can upgrade your existing Personal account to Business or Premier or you can open a new Business or Premier account. When you have a Business or Premier account, you can submit your request through the PayPal micropayments website.

Isn't there a limit to the total amount you can receive using a personal account?

I think I also remember rightly that a personal account cannot be used with API-based payment requests - e.g. using a personal account for selling on eBid wouldn't work due to how eBid bills the buyer.

Might be wrong, but I thought that was one of the limitations?

Yes Gaz, there are limitations on amounts but that really is not the problem. They will not issue Micro-payments for Individual accounts, odd tho' as mine is marked Premier - see the email I received from Paypal below as previously posted.
Yes you can use Paypal for API based I have just had a sale gone trough on ebid today and paid via Paypal I received payment without a glitch.

Email from Paypal Micro - Just last week:

No worries Ruby, it is just Paypal playing their silly games again, I thought someone may be able to explain, it was not directed at you.

    Question PayPal Micropayments a/c

Can't get anywhere with this link
    https://micropayments.paypal-labs.com/
as it wants me to convert my Premier a/c - which, at the moment, I'm not keen to do.

This link, however, wants me to open a business a/c
    https://www.paypal.com/IntegrationCe...opayments.html
    in order to receive micropayments.

    Helppppp ..........

Is it better to convert a Premier a/c and then start again with another Premier a/c to take larger c/card payments?

Confused - I am, as I thought I could upgrade my little used Personal a/c to micropayments, and I can't

I would convert your Premier Account if not a business to Micropayments and then open a Personal Account for larger payments like I do.
Personal account is nearly the same as a Premier in the UK. The main difference is you can't offer Buy Now, Instant payment on eb*y.
