I paid my £10 for a replacement wheelie bin and as agreed the council collected 10 Refuse sacks from my property at 7am. I was told my new bin should arrive within next few days, however when coming back from shopping (before i paid the £10) I noticed a black wheelie bin sitting outside, no house number on it either, checked tonight and the bin is still there, If its still sitting there after I get my 1st bin then I'll probably swipe the other bin aswell. I know its naughty.

What if the one sitting outside your house is lonely and afraid of the dark, why don't you just take it in for safe-keeping!! Not naughty but kind!

Yep they collected them at 7am, boy what a racket they made.

I could do that but I could get accused of theft if it belongs to someone else.

Ditto! If it is new, then you can assume it is the one for you - probably a mix-up in the council beaurocracy - its my experience the left-hand never know what the right hand is doing especially when it comes to services paid for! You can always hand it back if someone comes for it and rightly claim you were awaiting a new one and thought that was it

If its still there then I'll take it tomorrow evening, Its not really new as its got white marks on it. But will do as Redannigoni say's. Yes Ron I get it now. Someone probably did pinch my bin and saw I left a note on the window for cleansing and decided to return my bin back. But like I say I'll see if its still there tomorrow

I went 5 years without a bin as some kind git robbed mine, council refused to give me a new one unless I paid £50. When the house up the road became vacant, I took theirs. New tenants moved in last week and within a couple of hours they had a brand spanking new one. Result, everyone happy

Its now official, I swiped the bin that I saw yesterday, it was still sitting there so I swiped it.
