When I buy from anywhere I bid according to what I am willing to spend and that includes postage.
sellers will pay more in fees, adding postage to what would of been your starting price, may now push you into an higher listing fee bracket. Plus you would be paying fees on the postage part which you did not do previously. Postage discounts will be less due to higher fees.

also, always remember when you add the fees to your handling fees, will increase the damage to your DSR your star rating on shipping-handling, a lose lose for sellers in general, and that is there intention

    PLJ.

It was also stated, adding the postage cost to the starting price gives the appearance of items now being much more expensive.
Its been stated that JD The Ceo stated add the postage to the starting price to fool buyers into thinking they are getting free postage.
You & I know they are not, but some will think they will have free postage.

Sellers may also now be reluctant to give the equivelant of postal discounts on multiple buys in an effort to make up the extra costs (not necessarily ebay & paypal fees) this new procedure will rack up for sellers.

So yes it also affects the buyers.

Give it time and ebay will come up with a formula telling us we must give a discount on the cost of multiple purchases - not a bad thing in itself, I like being in a position to offer people discounts, but I don't want anyone else dictating how I do it.

A basic rule of business is that you try to pass your costs on to your customer, within reason, in order to make an acceptable profit.

Ebay doesn't allow sellers to operate within that principle anymore

It's no secret why e*ay wants shipping free and included in listing price. That way they can charge FVF on total sale. Right now they only charge FVF for sale price, not shipping. Then PP charges for sale price + shipping. With shipping included in price of item, e*ay will get a larger FVF on sale and then hit you again through PP. Doubling their profit because you're paying twice as a seller with shipping 'free'. They're not fooling anyone.

I have seen some talk on there forums today, about another policy roll out coming in the new year, where they will require sellers to pay for insurance ,it will not be a choice,it will be required, maybe this is just talk, but I would not be surprised, ebid make way for more coming over,it is inevitable

    this rule is daft.
think about it if i can't charge for postage then sorry but shipping will be flat rate eg lowest pos price thats no recored/sign for or courier service but then what happens if customer ask me to send it super fast next day courier i can't ask them to pay for it a) because listing has to state free postage b) if the customer does pay for it it will be a paypoo payment outside of feebay which they frown on and c) if i say sorry no can do i leave myself open to the old chestnut if not left feedback yet and you don't want to get a neg do you.
It will also be bad for the buyer say i get hold of action comics#1 (unlikley but we can dream) and sell it to someone on feebay then the buyer can't ask for anything special in the way for shipping and i can provide the right service without adding the extra cost to the starting price.
and don't get me started on multie buys discount.
    its just daft.

More changes around the 22nd of Sept.
I was under the impression the change would be that sellers would not be able to charge seperately for insurance.
