Hi from a New Seller of Reconditioned hi fi
Hi Folks, just thought I would say a quick Hi to everyone. I have come over from the dark side as I have had enough of being dictated to and being told I must accept an unnacceptable level of business risk. I buy, fix, refurbish ans ell used hi fi equipment, my me page will reveal all. Just put a few items on for now, will bung some more on as time allows. I have my own on line shop but strongly believe in trying all avenues. I really hope this site grows and evolves as the "other site" is just way out of control now, having been taken over by idiots that clearly have no understanding of what made it successful in the first place.
Dave.

Hi Dave, welcome to eBid, OK to help you get started add a signature link to your posts so us nosey lot have an easy link to your items whilst reading the forums, read this thread http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=100959 I see you've filled in some info on Your About Me Page so people know about you as a seller, but the link to your shop is a no no as it is ecommerce enabled and you don't want to get a slap as soon as you get here . I suggest buying a few things to kickstart your feedback over here, always looks better than a zero, ( I have some nice cheap prints ) have a look at my listings to see how I dealt with the zero feedback problem when I started.
Then email all YOUR (not Greedbay's they are a venue, they keep telling us) customers, and tell them where you are, give them a link to your listings. Grab the records while you can and from paypal records as well. That should keep you busy for a bit, and shout if you need a hand. Additional body parts incur a small fee Oh and finally read the forums there is a lot of useful information on here.

Hi Dave
Welcome.
I'm another recent eBid joiner I still have auctions running on eB*y, but would love this community to grow to enable me to make a complete move.
In my time I've also fixed a fair few bits of Hi-Fi. I still have a small part time operation fixing specialist PSU's - Not the PC ones, as they are now so cheap to buy, there is no scope for profit !
My last Hi-Fi fixing exercise was a Quad amp . I bought a rock bottom priced tatty 303 with a channel low and distorted - Easy enough to fix, usual stuff, low value dried out electrolytic caps. I'm currently using the 303 as a PC sound system, with a couple of small bookshelf Mission speakers (oh the ignominy in using such a fine piece of kit that way ).
Anyway, best of luck on eBid
Chris

Hi folks, thank you all for the replies and the warm welcome. I have changed my me page Ken, thanks for pointing that out to me. Will add the signature in a minute. It certainly seems to have picked up a little bit on here from a listing point of view, I hope the buyers come and join the party. I still have to list on the dark side as I have to pay the bills but I would so like to tell them where to shove their rules and disgraceful attitude.
Chris, common problem with the Quads, at least the caps last a few years on them - unlike the Chinese ones that quit within a year!! Trouble with Quads is there are a lot out there with every transistor blown, being DC coupled when they go they go big time!!
Best of luck to all.

Think I have done the signature thing right, just testing it.
