    Talking Yet more subversive heckling.

I wonder if this message on the Dark Side Community will warrant a slapped wrist?

Yep - I find I can now get buyers to pay much higher prices than before by selling on our wonderful site. How??? - Easy by being truthful. I advise them that I also sell on an alternative auction site, and can sell for much lower prices. That I have had to increase my prices here to cover horrendous commission charges, and for the fact that I can no longer accept other payment methods than the one dictated to me, that I have to send my goods out by courier, and not rely on the postal system. it all adds up, and makes listing a bit more expensive - So I double what I would charge elsewhere. Buyers would still prefer to buy on E-----y - SO, everybody is happy!

For those who aren't fussy about filtering what I sell - Take a look at ALL my stuff above. - But for more specific listings, take a peek in the stores below.

TOY-PALLOI - For all sorts of traditional playthings!

THE PAPERBOYS PLEASURE - For Books & Magazines

    OUT ON THE FLOOR - For Records - (mainly 1950's - 60's)

    VIEWPOINT - Photographic Equipment

THE SCRAPYARD - Spare parts for old cars and bikes

Obviously can't mention names for fear of the thread being removed! - Posted on the darkside forum.

I personally ALWAYS check the total price postage and buy price. If that total is what I am happy to pay - Great.

I do the same with an auction. I work out the total I want to pay, and calculate my top bid on that basis.

I've picked up some bargains this way as other bidders are obviuosly put off by being ripped off on postage, and can't see the bigger picture.

It's also worth bearing in mind that items sold on Ebay generally need to be trackable which is a more expensive service. That has to be built in.

I am very clear on what my charges are, both in my actual items, and in my postage - BUT I do advise bidders that I can usually offer a better price elsewhere.

On expensive items I quote for parcel carrier, rather than royal mail, so the price is often around £7.00 - £8.00. To cover the very high FVF's here I have also had to increase the BIN price by about £15 or thereabouts. So an item I have here for £95, will be up for sale elsewhere at somewhere in the region of £80. People still seem to prefer buying from me here though, probably for the percieved safety net?

Well Jan, if we could persuade them to accept your particular moniker as being official then I, for one, would not mind them being a household name!!!

I emailed darkside tech support from my email client (yahoo) witch has my eBid signiture on every message. They never answered, but my search standard was lowered, guess that was their answer.
