Note thit differen frm whit Chaucer wrot - the beauty of the language is it's punctuation and grammatical structure, not spelling - it gives it the ability to adapt to spoken as well as foreign and modern influences. Why d'ye think it's the primary language of the Net?

Sorry--been gone a while. In the US biscuits are a simple mixture of flour, shortening(or butter, or lard) and milk or buttermilk. Its kneaded together and rolled out. Then usually cut into circles about 2-3" across. It's generally eaten at breakfast with eggs, gravy, etc. A lot of places here offer biscuits sliced with all sorts of goodies in them. Bacon, ham, chicken, tomatoes, eggs, or a combination of stuff. In the south its almost impossible to have a meal without biscuits. Hot with butter--Mmmmmm! I know you have something similar. What do you call it?
P.S.--We also refer to large biscuits as cat heads!

I can't think of anything that resembles this. Except scones maybe. They are generally 2"thick. Though I believe there are things called drop scones, cooked o the hob rather than oven. I will have to consult one of my many cookbooks..... Or I suppose I could just book a flight.....

OK. A little English teaser for you.

Can you put the word 'had' into a sentence 11 times consecutively and have the sentence make sense?

i.e. The sentence will read '{any text} had had had had had had had had had had had {any text}.'

    More a punctuation problem.

P.S. The devils will nibble your toes for eternity if you use the internet to find the answer.

I am so full of cold today that my brain can't even work out where to look for an answer on the internet
