    Question Does this work?

Ok, since the US postage is so confusing I think I figured out what works for me personally. I put in my About Me page, and as a notice at the top of my auctions, and right in my auctions, the following information.

*****If you wish to order this item, please send me your mailing information so that I may aquire the correct postage. I offer 2 shipping options for most items so I would like to get the correct postage for those options. The postage rate indicated is not the correct rate.*****Thank you for understanding.

Ok, so that is not exactly what I have posted, but you get the idea.
Will this work, or will it cause problems?

Thank you for your opinion in advance.

As long as you're clear regarding the price stated.
In most of my Music Store items, rather than listing the different P&P rates for the different locations, I just stated the worse case scenario price (Rest of World) and informed buyers that they will get the appropriate discount should they live closer to me.
If people are worried about your postal rates, welcome any queries and you can reassure them with a more concise price depending on where they live/service requested etc.

I think there's always a risk involved when you rely so strongly on bidders reading detailed text to get things right, or understand the deal. Never underestimate buyers' ability to not read the small (or even fairly large!) print.

If your quoted, wrong, postage is too low, you might find yourself being expected to honour it. If it's too high, it could be putting people off who don't stop to find out it's not really that expensive.

I agree with the "too much text" syndrome.

Mind you Kimbo, from personal experience Buyers ignore the "Choose Country" setting to see their correct postal rate anyway and ultimately leads to sellers tweaking invoices that refuse to be tweaked!

There's not much between Europe/Int'l shipping (well...that's subjective, but it's not much difference on lighter items which is the case for my stuff!)
