Red face Google Search for eBid

I just did a Google search for eBid and got to the 5th page and still did not see eBid any where! Difficult to sell things if people can't find us. I have been emailing all my old customers and telling everyone I know about eBid. After more than a month I still have no sales - hope it happens soon.

Barb, what are you putting into google? When I put ebid in, even to the whole world site I get ebid as the first, sponsored, hit and then the next 4 down, followed by wikipedia's entry on... ebid!

I put in online auctions. If people don't know the name they can't put it in. There are lots of people looking for other sites so they can leave ebay. I have emailed a lot of the people that are on ebay chat and let them know, but it really needs to come up closer to the top of a general search.

I tried both 'online auctions' and 'online auctions, UK' and it came up page one both times. Google appears to display different settings to different users and have discussed this in some depth somewhere on the forums. I just haven't got a clue where, sorry LOL

I have just put in "ebid" and "online auctions"
    Both served up ebid.net first.

"online auctions" also returned ebid in seventh place. Interestingly feebay (i.e. the big company) did not feature directly within the first five pages,Ididn't go further.

I think what Barb is referring to is inputting on Google a wanted ITEM. Ebat listings for those items come up on the first page. What has to happen to make Ebid listings show up like eBay listings do??

I searched for one of my products and the only things that came up were links to 2 comping sites and the moneysavingexpert site - all 3 links were also linked to my personal website.

I trawled through 6 pages and there was no sign of my product on Ebid - which I find odd as the product on my site is linked back to my jewellery store here
