Depending on what you are shipping, go to USPS Priority shipping. These are free boxes. FedEx offers the same, but is a business format.
I have to ask, given the site, US or UK?
I get mine at my local branch of Sainsbury's. The boxes from their booze section are brilliant, especially the ones that the wine comes in - sturdy, but just the right size for many of the ceramics I sell. I also save carrier bags and use them for filling out space in the boxes
I would recommend corrugated card where possible. Be sure to re-seal the bottom with good brown tape as the original tape is usually a bit rubbish, I usually go once around the whole thing (with the lid closed) and tape over any holes or tears from both sides.
I will have to start asking in chemists, never thought of that one!

Well you never know when someone might be looking for boxes again! Thought I would add that Photo shops have great boxes that they don't use - for frames, film, etc. They are normally quite strong and of different sizes. If you have a photo shop near you it's worth a look.
I just got some boxes from my local Co-op village stores, they get chocolate bars and many other products in corrugated card boxes of various sizes; while not the strongest sort, they should be adequate for most things if well packed inside.

I never use second hand bubble wrap etc if its been used for anything organic, too much of a risk of cross contamination as organics degrade. I do have a regular supply of surplus boxes so if anyone in need who lives near the NE23 region of the UK wants to contact me they FREE.
