Thread: Auction Views Counter Bogus

  1. #1

    Default Auction Views Counter Bogus

On the other side my items sell with roughly between a dozen and a hundred views. I simply do not beleive the 'Auction View' counter is increasing with potential customers checking out my auctions. My accumulative views are currently at 5477 - On the other side that would have been around 100 sales rather than '0'. Perhaps the google base upload increases the number each time or is there another reason?

My previous attempt at selling here resulted in me doing a rant at the lack of sales. I have since taken on board some of the criticism and went for lifetime seller+ to maximise the number of items I have listed. In the weeks I have had 40+ items listed I have had neither an enquiry or sale which makes the auction counter look very suspicious to me!

I also can't understand the extensive views with few sales. It's as if people think they will spontaneously combust if they press 'buy now'

i hope you realise that every time you look at your auction the count goes up one more

if your having no sales then you really need to look into things a bit more

is that it absolutely nothing about your previous selling ?

Additionally, if you're using the x10 relists, the counter doesn't reset for each relist, which I quite like because over the duration of the listing, it really helps you to recognise which categories are the best for your items.

It also helps you figure out which photos and titles are not getting clickfall - something that's really tricky to do on the other side

Looking at your auctions I can see a couple of reasons for you to be getting so many lookers - you have alot of 'HOT' words in your titles (a good thing). So first, the eBid search engines work better than the other site. Second, eBid has more new members looking around and searching from the main page. Together you may be getting more lookers that aren't really interested in your items exactly, but are looking for Playboy, or Honda, etc. and getting you in their searches. This should be encouraging for you as the buyers here increase.

Will have to see how it goes. Have set the auction time to 14 days and auto-repost to 10. Have still got to alter most of my listings to take into account the full width and add google checkout option. I try not to click into the auction as I know it adds to the views total. My views to sales seems suspicious.
