Serious computer problem - HELP!!!!

Oh I took the side off alright.....Took one look inside and closed it again, thats when it went in the cupboard. I havent got a clue about the insides of the computer.

ROFL, oh dear the fan I mean is the bulky one usually attached to a square shaped block of metal.

I think you may have to bite the bullet and see if you have a cheapish repair shop nearby, stay well clear of the ripoff merchants like a certain well known pc chain that charge a fortune before they even unscrew the case.

How do i wipe the hard drive ?

NO NO NO ...Next week I am going to take the side off it and have a proper look. It dont work now so if I mess it up I wont have lost anything.

Its a few years old anyway, just be nice to have two computers again.

There you go, nothing to lose, everything to gain.

Before you plug it in, give it a good clean inside. Use a soft makeup brush to get between the grooves. Then when it does switch on see if the fan is spinning, especially when it starts making a noise.
