    How do i wipe the hard drive ?

    NO NO NO ...Next week I am going to take the side off it and have a proper look. It dont work now so if I mess it up I wont have lost anything.

    Its a few years old anyway, just be nice to have two computers again.

    There you go, nothing to lose, everything to gain.

    Before you plug it in, give it a good clean inside. Use a soft makeup brush to get between the grooves. Then when it does switch on see if the fan is spinning, especially when it starts making a noise.
