Any tips from other grannies or grandads here?

Emigrate before it is to late. Seriously though. Congratulations! Five years ago I had none. Now I have four and another on the way. Wouldn't be without them for anything.

I was a grandad at 37, it doesn't take long before you're used to it. lol

It was like becoming a dad all over again, I love it.

The only tips that I have are....

Help the parents and offer friendly advice without getting in the way,

    Spoil the grandchild,

Be the grandchild's best friend so they can talk to you when they are older.

I have a very good relationship with my grandson, he talks to me about stuff he doesn't want to talk to his mum about. We're like best mates and love each other to bits. I hoe to have the same relationship with my granddaughter when she is older (she'll only be 2 next month).

Most of all lass......ENJOY IT !
Aw, thanks Yorkie I remember you becoming a grandad, I think?, and how much you do with him - you certainly are a lovely role-model for new/young grandparents, IMHO

Congratulations. There are worse things than being a young grandmother, one is being an old grandmother. I was a young one and have a sister-in-law that was an old one. I was able to sit in the floor and play and now that the oldest is 16 I am having a ball talking and listening to her and still feeling young enough to know what she is talking about. Hope I can still do that when the 2 year old turns 16. There are 6 more in between these and they are all sooooooooooooooooo much fun!

Ooh! Thanks for the hint! I shall have a look in your store - have no idea what she's having yet (or what styles she likes) but I can still go gaga over the bub clothes!
