Thread: self-naru'd buyer

    Default self-naru'd buyer

Well, that was interesting. Someone just did a BIN on one of my auctions, and then promptly deleted his/her account. Wonder if it was just to sniff out seller info...?

Anyone else encounter this? I had hoped this wouldn't happen on this site, but I suppose I was simply being naive.

Are you sure that it wasn't eBid deleting the a/c?

They cannot delete their account themselves, they have to request that eBid do it.
If they have a strikethru, then eBid have put their account on hold, for whatever reason, could be any number of reasons for that, & their account might get reinstated.

The forums aren't country specific. If you look at the large eBid logo at the top, it has a gavel in the small circle. On country specific parts of the site it shows the countries flag instead.

Someone has just bought one of my baby slings (Buy it Now),and I now see they have a line through their name with a -1.The negative feedback left for him was saying he was an auction wrecker.Obviously I haven't sold this item,do I get my final value fee back?

Hi junaruby, that's rotten for you. Contact support for advice and fees refund. They're normally very helpful.

Would also suggest that you put the id on your blackball list in case they are reinstated.

    Smile Auction Wrecker

Ive had an auction wrecker tonight. BIN within 15 mins of joining. Few hours later line appeared through name. Ive checked their address and its registered to a car dealers who I called at 10.45pm on the mobile number on their website and the person said they didnt know the name I asked for (which incidently is a german musicians name), my problem with this is that this unknown person has all of our correct details (they are currently on -6 fb) but apart from ebid having the ip addy we dont know who they are. Or are they collecting email addresses for free?? I get at least 50 spam everyday. Why do we have to have our addresses shown to buyer at the end of auction. I think they should not be seen unless you offer postal payments. It would make no difference regarding sellers scamming as if you change your details in Personal Details then surely the addy you registerd with and verified is still on file with Gazza & Mark, besides when you pay using email-email payments the postal addy is irrelevant, it doesnt guarantee you getting your item and if there is a problem you can request the details from support. Please Gazza & Mark can we have this reviewed? Honest sellers dont need their details on show and dishonest sellers will give false addresses anyway and not accept postal payments.

Got really excited.Never mind,I still have high hopes, getting more views than expected. This site seems to be growing all the time, and being able to suggest categories is a really good idea...
A bit scary though about some nutter having my name address AND telephone number !
