Thread: Sub-Catagories For Patches

  1. #1

    Default Sub-Catagories For Patches

Hello, I requested new collectable embroidered patch catagories on 22 August and have not received a reply.
A "Yes we can do that" or "No, we can't do that" would suffice. I understand things get busy but to be acknowledged would be great.
    Thanks, The Patch Dog

    Hello.

Can you add subcatogories for collectable patches such as Police Patches, Fire & Rescue Patches, Boy Scout Patches, Girl Scout Patches, Military Patches, Craft Patches, Sports Teams Patches

The format could be like below

    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Police Department
    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Fire Dept & Rescue
    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Boy Scouts
    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Girl Scouts
    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Military
    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Craft-Clothing
    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Sports Teams
    Collectables/Badges & Patches/Patches/Other Patches

I have between six-seven thousand patches that I would like to list on eBid but with just 1 catagory for patches, it would be too confusing or tedious for customers to go through them all.

    Thank you

Is it actually worth having so many categories? I suspect that most of those cats would end up empty in a very short time.
Do you really have so many items to auction that chucking them all into one single category would cause a problem?
    What's wrong with stopping at Collectables/Badges & Patches ?

Remember, you can organise your shop (when you get one) into the relevant categories and if you are the only seller with this item - and it looks very much like you will be - then buyers could narrow down their search within your store.

It won't take long for that category to become unmanageable, Damien. I've badges to list too!

OK, so how about Collectables/Badges and Collectables/Patches ?

How far down is it really necessary to go?
Do people really search for items in such a specific manner or would a more general approach work?

So do you agree with ThePatchDog's list or would some other combination be better for you?

I think patches and badges can be grouped together but it would be good to sub-divide that by type. People who collect them collect by a particular interest.
