    It was then.
    The day after you bought it, the charges went UP to £1!

    Postal Order charges as of 17/7/03 are:

    50p/£1 = 25p
    £2/£3/£4 = 50p
    £5/£6/£7 = 80p
    £8/£9/£10 = £1
    £15 = £1.10
    £20 = £1.20
