Alas the end of Wilko.
Where will I buy my flower seeds now if I cannot buy them in Wilko for £0.50?
Never mind, I could buy a small packet of flower seeds on Ebid for only £0.78, though the postage at £32 seems a bit over the top.

Alas indeed, where will I now buy a hose-pipe connector for an elderly neighbour that I help-out with her garden?
When Tesco closed down in my town and Wilco took over their store we had a thriving hardware shop (with their garden supplies shop just across the road). A second hardware shop specialising mainly in door, gate fittings and locks (including fitting service), and a double-fronted shop selling every conceivable hook, brush and gadget for the kitchen and other general around-the-house items. All family businesses.
Now all closed down.
I don't know if the local Wilco has shut yet, will find out later today, but doubt there will be much in stock if they're even still open and there's now nowhere else in town to buy any of that sort of thing.

I went into Wilko Walthamstow, then Stratford E15 on Tuesday to look for seeds. The display was stripped bare. Glad in a way there are plenty of gardeners in East London.
There are local groups where you can swap seeds, and I can put a want on Freegle, so one way or another the garden will not be bare.
Life is fine so long as you can adapt and survive.
Maybe just a touch of "Thou shalt not remove thy neighbour's landmark, which they of old time have set in thine inheritance," Deuteronomy 19:14-16

Yes, a real loss - I no longer have a car and always ordered large bags (12.5kg) of wild bird seed plus dog treats many other items, all at the same time, for delivery.
Not sure what to do now?
I will miss their paint - always seemed to have the colour I wanted and couldn't get elsewhere... There's still a little hope of some sort of rescue/buyout but it's fast running out of time...
