That white blurr on the backside - I bet Jesse's tail was wagging.
So sorry about Emily and hope the memories bring joy to your heart.

Yes, that is Jess's tail - she loves to play.
Emily was, as I've probably already said, found shut in with her dead owner. I am pleased that we gave a very nervous cat about 6 years where she settled and became a happy & interesting cat.
And now we have Rou visiting while her owner sells vintage clothing at a festival - to raise money for the development charity Empower the Gambia.

Meet Opal from Cats Protection. It looks as if she will settle with us and rescue us from petlessness!

Today , I added another lady to my canine harem! She has joined Bracken and Clover and will be known as "Fern". She is a Bichon Frise.
"Fern" is, believe it or not, 5 years of age and has been a breeding-bitch in one of those dreadful puppy farms in Sir Gaerfyrddin (Carmarthenshire). For those of you who do not know, these ladies are to all intents and purposes, raped; their pups are removed when barely weaned, and the machinery continues. I'd love to get my hands on the "bar-stewards" who do this....I have a few ideas for them.....

Well done, Cam! Vile people who run puppy farms!
Opal turns out to be a Red Colourpoint British Shorthair - how about that for a breed name! to us, she is a cat!

Yes, well done indeed Ian!
Here she is with Bracken, the smaller of the first two. Is this what is meant by "cheek to cheek"? It's difficult to get all three together in a sensible pose!!
Correction:
On second thoughts her name is "Ferny". I'm using the convention that a monosyllable is a command and a name is a disyllable or tri.
An update to the Ferny saga! I am learning so much. Here is a pic of Ferny after a visit to the "beauty parlour" last week -
She is five years old but looks like a puppy. In fact, Clover has adopted her and is treating her as a pup, washing her ears etc. She is also helping to housetrain Ferny, which is saving me a lot of effort I must admit.
I spoke to her rescuer about this and she was very pleased and explained: "They are barely weaned when removed from mum so have not had a full infancy. Many never achieve this, so your older bitch is helping there and Ferny will become a normal adult if all goes well."
This is going to be a very interesting learning experience.
