Has your nominated school received the defibrillator yet Annie?
Would be lovely to see some pics!
Hi Trish, I know you have asked Annie but can I be cheeky & grab the chance to explain a bit about the School defibs here please?
It can take weeks & sometimes months to get a defibrillator in situ. The best time reached so far has been 6 weeks with a School local to me (the only one in 12 to manage it so quickly) - & that was with all the connections & info I am able give them. I have 3 locals in process near me & all 3 have been rumbling since last September! In April I did a presentation at a School local to me - it had rumbled for absolute months and months & I had given up on it. It turned out that they wanted to buy the Defib; get the Staff training done; then arrange a special Assembly with max Staff + me there for a Presentation taking their cheque with me.
All 3 YDC Schools will have to make arrangements internally; contact their own Ambulance Services to arrange type of defib, where to buy & also Staff training.
Plymouth - I contacted several times then the Trustees wrote to them mid-April & got an immediate response of Letter of Intent promise which still hasn't landed! Lol!
Penygloddfa - Mr Mullan is very much a pressured "hands on" Headmaster. Annie was in touch with him last week and he was waiting to hear back from his local Ambulance Service.
Mearns - will take the longest of all - the Headmistress has to discuss with the Community Centre + Police Station re location & responsibilities; contact Scottish Ambulance Service etc etc etc.
Info will be posted as soon as it's possible....
ps Plymouth is far too far for me to do a Presentation but 131 miles to Newtown, Powys, could be managed if, of course, Annie & me were asked!
.
Thanks so much for all the detailed info cheavs, and also for all the many hours of work that you put in (behind the scenes) into seeing that the schools get their defibs. Jolly well done!
It will be great when we see you and Annie at the presentation of the Newtown defibrillator - how exciting!
Be sure to give us a wave and a big smile ....... !!!!!
