I am so very sorry to have to break the very sad news that our dear Gillian passed peacefully away at 1.30am this morning.

She had been battling so bravely with pancreatic cancer since before Christmas and wasn't given long but she was determined to survive to see the daffodils bloom and she did with fortitude and courage.

The last month was difficult as she had also had a stroke but she still managed to say a few words on the phone. It has been a privilege to know you Gillian with your generosity, warmth and terrific sense of humour and I will miss you.

My thoughts are with her husband David and her sons. May you rest in peace dear Gill.

This is a truly beautiful epitaph for Gill, Becky and I agree with each and every word. Gill would have loved those daffies!

She was a wonderful friend to me - and my husband Sammy - and we are going to miss her so very, very much.

God bless you, my wee Gilly and may you rest in peace xxx

Not surprised that Gillian got her wish to see the daffodils bloom, determination was something that showed through clearly in the PM's I used to receive. I remember some time ago getting a message 3 days before she was due for an operation with the added dilemma of a holiday booked immediately after, so some doubt whether the doctors would let her go or not. I think most people wouldn't be asking how to do something on eBid in those circumstances.

Nice lady, thoughtful, kind and determined.
