I have several charity shops in my town, on refuse collecting days there are piles of things which people have donated thrown out! A lot of people sift through these bags and take armfuls of items away with them!!!

One shop has also been broken into and their rag bags stolen!

Someone at the hospital decided that this wasn't acceptable.

We live in a town (about 10,000) people, so one of the nurses that we know told us that they couldn't accept them anymore. I remember posting on here about it at the time and several people agreed with the hospital's position. Personally, I never understood how brand new stuffies in a brand new clear recycle bag could pose a health risk to anyone.

I had a picture in my mind that a stuffed animal might bring some small comfort to a traumatized child or adult, but I guess I was wrong.
I'm with you; I'll freely admit I don't know diddle about safety reg's and all, but IMHO the comfort of a child would far outweigh these considerations. IMHO some folks care more about rules than people, (my old boss springs to mind here), unfortunately I have problems with such people.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

So went over the road to the Air Ambulance who were delighted with them.

    Confused from Leicester

If you make any more, list them on here and I will take them to a boot sale. I can put a BIG label on them 'All proceeds to the eBid.net YDC charity auction' Any that I sell I can donate the amount to that months charity.

I used to work for the National Health Service.
Every time we came up with an idea to help patients, or make their lives more pleasant, we were met with the same reply:

    "Against regulations".

We quickly found the answer was to ask politely to see the regulations in question - after all we wouldn't want to be inadvertently in the wrong. Those "regulations" never appeared. Not once. It's a stock lazy bureaucrats fob-off.

Why doesn't this surprise me? I used to get the same reaction from my old boss whenever I suggested anything that might make things easier for our clients, unfortunately I wasn't in a position to do much more than grumble when my suggestions got rejected over and again. Glad you went out of your way to get the truth out of the pencil pushers, kudos.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Told you not to start me off............My son Thomas who was 4 at the time Had a minor accident In the street outside a Red Cross shop. He cut his knee and being special needs was in a right state. No Problem we are outside a Red cross shop. Sorry we cant help he might drip blood on the carpet. So I took him into the charity shop next door . Straight in Plaster and fixed. Guess who gets my charity stuff if I ahve any.

OMG, they were worried about the carpet with an injured child needing attention? That just takes the cake, what a bunch of lulus!

Best wishes for many sales to all,
