Too true, most minorities have little influence on the Westminster village.
Which is why I'm so pleased that we loonies and fruitcakes at last have a chance of representation through UKIP.

Most other groups are well represented in Parliament - crooks, gays, religious fanatics, fraudsters and megalomaniacs are well covered.

Along with devil-worshippers, the Fruitcake faction has been sadly overlooked when public policy is constructed.

I hope that an independent Scotland will not make the same mistake, and marginalise the wierd: We can vote, and we count!

You/We are only loonies and fruitcakes because we are a minority. Once you become the majority the new minority become the loonies and fruitcakes.

I expect HS2 will be like most other government projects; it will be forced through against the wishes of the people, billions will be spent on it, and then it will be abandoned before it is completed.

At least given independence the proposed Glagow / Edinburgh links could be dropped. Which is a good thing because, let's face it, nobody is in that much of a hurry to get to Scotland (only away from).

When they tell us that it will be possible to get to Manchester and Liverpool 20 minutes sooner, I want to ask why they couldn't just start earlier.
Surely it would be cheaper to supply everyone with alarm clocks, that build a £50 billion railway line.

even cheaper would be to put all clocks in Manchester and Liverpool back by 20 minutes, thus you get there 20 minutes quicker. the other side of he coin is you would get back to London 20 minutes late (not a bad thing for most people)........or have you thought squern, that if we make all the uphills, downhills, travelling by road would be that much quicker?
