This new policy is out of synch with the EU DistanceSelling Regulations. There is already consumer protection law in place for items that are not fit for purpose. PayPal seem to forget that there needs to be a balanced relationship between buyers and sellers.

Big does not always mean survival or success. You have only to see how Tesco are performing in the supermarket sector to realise that customers can vote with their feet.

But first we need a viable competitor to Paypal and there is none on the horizon

It is a pity ebid cannot do what the handmade auction site i have a shop on does, You register your bank account for payments and fees and they transfer your payments straight into your account. The buyer does not see your account details
Simply Handmade all my handmade items
Maelbrigda's Bits and Pieces For Clothing and Jewellery, Ornaments, Odds & Ends & Much More
Craft Store Crafty bits & pieces. Patterns, Card, Yarn, Stamps and more
Books, Blu Rays, DVD's, CD's and Vinyl Records

Please have a look. I combine postage wherever possible.

    +1 - sounds good .

whenever i mention bank transfer to customers it scares them , german ebay sales are mostly Bank transfer from what i can see - couple of years back at least .

That's what Amazon used to do - and eBay in the beginning if I remember correctly. Would like to see eBid do the same so I can get rid of Paypal !

yes Amazon did it when i had a shop there, but they only paid you once a month. The other site does it on each sale.
