Todays Independence Referendum update... and it's a good one!
An unnamed senior colleague of Prime Minister David Cameron was quoted saying a Yes vote would not guarantee independence if negotiations between Edinburgh and London could not be completed satisfactorily, adding that the status quo would be “the default option”.
"If we could not reach agreement, the status quo would be the default option. It would not be a question of defying the wishes of the Scottish people. As the UK government we would have a duty to represent the interests of the people of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.”
The comments by the unnamed colleague sound very much like the comments from David Mundell (the only Conservative MP in Scotland) a month or so ago.
So, just like 1979, vote "Yes" and we may end up with "No".
So much for the Edinburgh Agreement. Better Together? We might not have a choice.

Thought I'd resurrect this one from the murky depths with a quick update on the most recent polls:
Yes: 40%, No: 45%, Undecided 15%, figures from the same poll last month were Yes: 37%, No: 49%
Anyone want to have a go at predicting the outcome?
