Spreadsheet - remove current auctions option

I am a bit stuck with this question.

It appears that there is no category to ask technical questions such as this, except in Kitchen Table.

I use the Seller+ Spreadsheet to upload listings in bulk, and there is an option I do not understand.



I can delete current auctions before starting the auction by clicking the checkbox.

• But which current auctions will be deleted?
• I can't spot a mention of this in FAQs, or in the Instructions-Read-Me-First of the Spreadsheet.
• Is it all? Seems rather drastic, and there are other ways of doing that.
• Is it the files I am about to load, and again there is an overwrite option instead

Anyone know the answer, and indeed the purpose of the checkbox?

I suppose it could be that it removes current auctions in the file you want to uplist.

I can see the purpose in that, to prevent duplicate listings

If this is the case the language on download needs a subtle adjustment because to my logical mind duplicates can be removed during the file check. but not before starting the file check that discovers duplicates.

Not something I have used, mate, so can't help. Probably best to ask support if nobody here seems to know.

Looks like it has a similar effect to 'overwrite'.

What would the effect be if you did an 'overwrite' for auctions you haven't changed? Would the ones you have changed change and the others either not change or come up with an error?

Hi,

I am currently uploading my stock from other sites and I was wondering what this checkbox was for. After reading your post I thought I would test the box to find out what happened. I thought it best to find out now rather than later once I have uploaded all my stock.

By ticking the checkbox all my previously uploaded listings were deleted leaving only my new listings on eBid.

This box would only be useful for sellers when they wish to update all listings and ensure they are not left with any duplicate listings.
