Can anyone clear this up for me?

I get a lot of requests to pin on other people's boards. As I understand it, that means that their board will appear alongside mine, on my page.
I always refuse them, because I don't want dozens of irrelevant boards diluting what I am trying to do - promote my own sales.

Have I got that right?

I don't think their boards will show up on your page, tho you will be able to see their posts. The more places your items show up, the more people will see them and come running to your shop! You might want to try it.....I'm sure you can undo it if you change your mind.

i contribute to the ebid boards (which you could argue are diluted by other peoples items)
my own privite selling boards
my own private boards not related to my selling activities - things i like basically a virtual collection)
I also contribute to 3 other boards which basically are fashion/designer/diy/upcycle ideas boards again things that appeal to me not connected to my selling activities
and a several other boards which are connected to a multi user blog set up by a friend. (had sales from some of these boards, but have dropped some of the original boards because i no longer have anything to pin on them.
