Thread: What??????????? Why?????????????????

  1. #1

    Angry What??????????? Why?????????????????

Logged on this morning to find Ebid had removed one of my listing.
Now because I had not listed for a long time I decided I had better check out that my new listing was not against any of ebids policys.

So wrote to ebid support in August giving them my listing number who then told me the listing was ok and I could go ahead and start to list.

    So I did.
Do competitors on here now report listings for fun?
and do Ebid just remove already approved listings once someone reports them?

Im waiting for a reply from Ebid

Not in my experience - I report certain unacceptable listings and quite often have to report them repeatedly to get them removed.

I do not report competitors' listings - I report adult items outside the adult category and fakes.

As far as I know most listings are only reported if they violate eBid listing rules, though I expect there are exceptions. I do recall reading something on the forums a while back about eBid removing listings of sellers who hadn't logged in for a certain time period, not sure what the time period was or if it's even being done anymore.

Sorry you had this experience, it might just be a glitch. Hope everything is sorted soon.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

My main thought is Whatever the problem.
Will it count against me at a future date?

The listing I had removed was going to be a template so to speak for another 50 or so auctions. Hence one of the reasons my checking that everything in the listing was ok

I wouldn't think it would count against you, especially if it's just a glitch.

I find eBid's policy on deleting reported auctions extremely frustrating.

It would be far more helpful if the item was closed and an email sent to say why it was closed, so you can then amend and relist.

Currently, you could find yourslef in an infinite cycle of posting-deleted-posting etc purely due to the lack of communication.

There is also no consistant approach to how they deal with reported listings.

So, hopefully you will get a definitive answer and you can move forward and start listing without fear of them disappearing!

Recently (last week I think) I had an item vanish into eBid ether..... but I got an email explaining why it had been removed. It was an innocent violation on my part. I immediately closed 2 or 3 similar listings & asked the Guys to check if they were ok or not. (I honestly did not know if they were good to go or not.) I very quickly got a reply of advice saying the other items were ok so I relisted them straight away.
I don't think it gets any better than this.

That only raises the consistency issue. I fear that is the exception rather than the rule. It is certainly not what happened to the OP, and it's not something that happened to me in the past.
