Hi there Pamela, yes we have been to Las Palmas.
It was over 20 years ago though, we treated my parents to a holiday for their Ruby Wedding Anniversary, and we all went together.
We had a super time, even then there was a good night life, our accommodation was spotlessly clean and we all had a super time.
I have forgotten what the beaches were like - I think they were shingle, with dark sand, as it's volcanic.
(Or was that Tenerife?)
You can always find out more about the place if you google it.
Go for it, and if you do, please may I carry your suitcases?
Yes, I've been there it must be about 14 or 15 years ago and we had a really nice holiday. It is quite touristy but I prefered it to Tenerife as it is much greener and less barren.
Lol, Yes you are thinking of Tenerife with the volcano Trish. We drove up to see it and nearly got blown away I remember, it was really windy.

I really enjoyed Gran Canaria. The beach was lovely with dark yellow sand. And the hotel was fab. Had a really lovely time there.
