One store or multiple stores

Is it better to have all your varied items in one store on divided them into separate stores according to category?

I would say that it depends on how many items you have listed. I have over 2700 items split into 5 stores, and might add another store this year. It is far better for buyers if they are just looking through items they might be interested in, and can lead to more sales.

Thanks for the reply. Right now I have 30 items but plan on adding much more so guess I'll stick with the 3 stores that I have.
