How long should I wait for my product to come in mail before I file a complaint?
How long should I wait for my product to come in mail before I file a complaint?
It depends on many factors such as:
Where the item is coming from - post from other countries can take many weeks to arrive
What time of year it was posted - public holidays can cause backlogs
What method was used to post - Regular post, expedited shipping, courier delivery, overseas mail, etc.
The value of the item - expensive items often get stuck at customs so they can work out how much to charge you
Whether the item was in stock or if it had to be ordered for you
And so on.
Perhaps if you gave a few more details we could offer more helpful advice?
Did the seller send you an invoice? How did you pay? When did you pay? etc
Ta-Ta for now!

Firstly i would contact the seller after 7 days if not International post, if i get no reply after 10 days i do the buisness.
Also did the item listing include a quoted handling time (for example my listings state that I send out within three working days) and these days have there been any strikes or anything that might have caused a delay?Where the item is coming from - post from other countries can take many weeks to arrive

Your first port of call, if you feel it has been a bit of a while, is to contact your seller politely and ask them when the item was sent, etc. Is there a tracking number that you can check, for example?
Do remember that individual sellers are responsible for sending items out within stated times, but *not* for the inner-workings of postal companies / customs departments, so when delivery times are quoted, it is approximate based on the publically advertised delivery times for that service advertised by the postal/ courier company. (I just had a special delivery "Royal Mail next day delivery guaranteed" parcel send via ebay, inland, take 8 weeks to arrive, just across the country to someone in London. Caused no end of headaches!!!!
Agree with all of the above. International mail can take several weeks sometimes, depending on when the item was mailed, where it was mailed from, whether or not it gets held up in custums, etc.. Even domestic mail can be delayed at times, especially during holidays, bad weather, etc.. If you haven't already done so, you might want to ask the seller (via AAL and/or personal e mail) when the item was mailed and if any tracking info. is available.
Best wishes for many sales to all,
I ask international customers to allow 4-6 weeks for delivery, but have never had it take that long. I did have a shipment to Italy take three weeks.
Domestic shipments usually are much quicker, although I believe USPS won't consider a shipment late until 21 days after it is shipped. I just shipped an item First Class on Monday, June 4th and it was delivered on Wednesday afternoon, June 6th. Of course, that was only going from here in central Florida to the St Louis area, but still, that was good time.
Agree with it all. Everything I send to the USA via airmail seems to be taking 4 weeks plus which seems a long time to me. It seems the delay is when it lands in the US, don't know why. Patience I guess, I just hope the buyers in the US realise there will be a delay.
I usually post items within 24 hours and air mail usually 5 days max so who knows?????
Cheers Alan

I think its due to US customs checking items (http://www.discogs.com/help/forums/topic/222856, http://pe.usps.com/text/imm/immc7_001.htm)Agree with it all. For UK sellers, this is a good link to check any delays to certain countries - or UK regions - http://www.royalmail.com/customer-se...ervice-updates
