Wal-Mart had the self-checkouts here in Slave Lake, Alberta, but took them out. I think they found too much stock was walking out the door.

I liked the self-service checkout at Wal-Mart. But, I agree thieves and cheats were probably the reason that they were removed. Also, I thought that the machines were for express, but there would be people with a cart full of stuff, instead of just a few items.

I luv the self service check outs, use asda one every morning as it's much faster then waiting in the que.

Astral the only reason i imagine that you had to go que up again was because you had already paid, I've used mine in morrison's self service, I just called someone over and they put it in as a coupon, always use B&Q one infact anywhere they have them
