Is Royal Mail running slow????

I send all my parcels 2nd class and most of them get there next day or within 3 days if not.

Just had some stamps delivered within 24 hours and two items i sent out arrived on time.

I know sometimes things do take longer and have noticed overseas postage seems to take longer than normal, I think there may be issues in the US with customs???

With all the cut backs at royal mail if we all sign up to the web site to cut down on unsolicited mail there should be more room for our important stuff!!!

I did this some time ago, but doesnt seem to have affected the junk mail much. Whats funny Is that I keep being sent stuff promoting over 50's life cover ... I am 31!

I read in the paper the other day that Royal Mail's profits amount to £1m a day - as they are state owned is this another tax!?

I expect so, this weekend I am writing Christmas cards for mainland Europe. Cheap pack of 10 basic cards, cost me one pound (cheapskate !), postage works out at 68 pence each.

Simple answer is yes


Our in and out post is always hit and miss.

Out bound if posted 1st class to UK average delivery time is 7 days BUT if sent 2nd class average delivery time is 2 days (thats why everything goes 2nd)

In bound averages 7 to 10 days regardless of 1st - 2nd or parcels.

It's a pain but got used to it now as it's been like this for 8+ years.

Mine is usually first class and is usually next day delivery!

Posted in Norfolk friday at 4pm arrived in Scotland by 11am Sat morning, customer very happy.

Had a letter posted to me first class from Norwich last Saturday. In theory, this should have arrived Monday. It turned up here on Wednesday.

On monday the 14th a seller posted an item to me 1st class recorded i received it on sunday the 20th at 12.30.
This week i have received no parcels even though all three sellers have stated they posted on tuesday and wednesday via 1st class !
The parcel mail here is really delayed but letters and large letters are coming through okay.
Whats it going to be like in two weeks time?
May close down for a while or state in my listings i cannot gaurentee in time for christmas : (
