Dumb Question here but how do you scan them?

To answer your question Craig, if you have a smart phone (iPhone or Android), you use an App to scan the code, much like the supermarket uses a barcode scanner.

Found this site the other day that lets you create and print out or download /email your own qr code for free so you can use them on flyers etc. - they also suggest using them as stickers or promo temporarily tattoos/t-shirt transfers (would be a good way to plug ebid as well - print the logo on a sheet of labels or transfer paper and include some with your next order/catalogue /shop newsletter if you have one.)
or get them printed on t-shirts etc / hi-res for pro quality booklets/posters/flyers. (paid)
