Anyone know anything about antique fine art please?

Hello all,
I am not sure if you can help me. Today I bought two signed watercolours by Victor Hernandez. One is of sweetpeas, the other roses. Beautiful still lifes in original wooden frames. All I know is he lived from 1827 -1901 and was Spanish.Seems he has sold a few oils for quite a bit. I would be most grateful if anyone knows anything about this kind of thing.

I have an old 2003/2004 Davenport's Art Reference. Your artist is listed. Though I don't know what it means exactly, the citation is as follows:

Hernandez Victor * 20th Cent*Europe*Still Lifes, Flowers. $305 20 x 24 (not sold) * Billinghurst 12/12/95 * [1995}

thanks for that. Yes, at least he is listed. I think his most "famous" painting seems to be "carnations and asparagus in glass" which fetched around £400 from what I can see

frames cant be original because they are from daner founded 1946.
