im new to selling on ebid but looking through other peoples auctions they have had 1or 2 views on there items where as i have promoted my items on facebook and twitter and and had many more views,are people not doing more to promote there items or am i getting carried away.

I don't think you are getting carried away.
but i would say don't belive what you see with the veiw counter as It is not the most reliable some of my listing on one day say one count then the next day say a lower figure.

I tweet and use Facebook on most of my listings. Things are slower here and most of the sellers as far as I know really don't use social networking or advertise

I tweet and Facebook to but at the min am not sure how much good this does. As for it being slower here I beg to differ have had more comic book sales on here in the last 2 months then on other platforms. 3 thing that I think help are the fact that I list nearly every day,have Mix of bin and auctions running and they all have fix/bin prices so that they appear on google and bing. I am not sure how much success the Facebook and twitter thing gets.

I tweet - but not to excess. About once a week to promote something.
You'll get an automatic dozen or so views after tweets, but that's most likely from search bots.
It's hard to tell what amount are from "real" viewers?
I think? I made my first sale after a tweet - but it may have been a coincidence, I guess I'll never know.
Make every effort to promote your items for sure!

When some one buys from me I always ask how they heard of me and lately they say from twitter. I have been tweeting my Facebook items this month and have made 14 sales there. When I tweeted eBid last month made only 1 same but was from twitter advertising.

Sometimes people have their setting set to show bids in a cumulative manner, and others have it reset each time the item is relisted.
