Default Missing major scale in Trains & RR

    Gaz & Mark,
The subcategories for trains and railways looks pretty comprehensive, but it seems to be missing the scale TT guage
TT is 1:100 scale and matches up exactly with both the scale modellers' 1/100 scale, as well as the 18mm scale used by wargamers (15mm wargames scale is 1/120 not 1/100).

It's possible TT is not showing up when I browse because there's nothing listed for it (which would be very unusual), but could I ask that you check if it's included, and add it if it's not?

    Many thanks
    Gaz

    Hi Gazza

In the Toys and Hobbies - Trains & Model RR category, you have the following categories -

    DCC Systems & Accessories (1)
    Finescale (0)
    G Scale (8)
    HO Scale (1259)
    Live Steam (2)
    Mixed Lots (9)
    N Scale (583)
    O Scale (57)
    OO Scale (951)
    S Scale (3)
    Standard Scale (0)
    Z Scale (19)
    Other (119)

The missing scale is TT Scale

In fact though ... to be pedantic ... in model railways, each "scale" you have listed should be named as a "Gauge" as well as a scale - one refers to the track width (and thus the wheel span on the engines and carriages - the line gauge), the other refers to non-track-related models (the scale).
But that would just be thoroughly confusing for everyone.

TT Scale (1/100th) is required though, it has almost as strong a following as HO/OO (1/76th scale)

You also need to be careful with N Scale - there are two N scales and they are not compatible. In essence they are referred to as UK N-scale and US N-scale. Trains from one do not fit with the other, and cannot run on each others track systems. As with all things trans-pond that have a common name (apologies to Sir Winston for twisted quote) these two systems are in use in countries other than just the UK and US, but each country only uses one or the other. Neither is dominant globally.

    Hope it helps
    Gaz
