Happy New Year everyone!!
Are we all sobered up yet?? (only joking - well no, that's a serious question for Cornish lol)
YDC 2011 will be starting shortly, and hopefully there will be a copious quantity of Christmas presents on offer....
I haven't been around very much over the past few weeks.........but, as well as visiting various sick beds around the country, I've been busy, working on a possible marketing plan for YDC & eBid.
I'll outline the "framework" - although I am going to try this idea "in situ" so I can iron out any hiccups.
Children! Yes there are lots of them about! (usually under your feet lol)
Do you have any primary school kids? Do your friends / relatives / neighbours have any?
Does the said primary school need to raise funds? (the answer to that one is always YES!)
Is there (or could there be) a working relationship between you and a contact within the school?
Then, you may be interested in this:
Objectives:
To raise funds for [enter the name of your chosen school here]
To raise the public profile of YDC & eBid charity auctions.
Action Points:
Liase with school re: a notice within the next school newsletter – could parents / guardians / grandparents donate any small goods (ie: unwanted gifts) which will be placed on www.eBid.net, as auctions, to raise much needed funds for our school.
School contact to collect any donations.
(Any unsuitable items to be withheld for the next bric a brac or jumble sale.)
Goods sent to / or collected by volunteer seller – in readiness for the following YDC
Goods listed ASAP (in advance)
Auction numbers & info. to be forwarded to school
Said numbers & start dates / times etc. to be included within the next school newsletter.
This whole concept relies entirely on the goodwill of the school and the seller involved, but hopefully it will help to “cast the net” a bit wider, instead of relying on eBid members to willingly donate items, month in – month out.
As said, I’m going to try this idea with my Granson’s school – first hand market research (or in at the deep end lol)
At worst, it could fall totally flat………or it could be a totally new stream of YDC supporters!
All the best!
