The trick is - to change your insurance company every year (or at least get a few low quotes and let your current provider matche or better them). Go to money saving expert for loads of good advice.

    Hi Buttons...
Direct Line!...I have been with them for years for both house ...contents and car. Every year I have to stop each insurance as the reminder comes thru and take out a fresh policy via the internet.
They offer first time buyers (and also internet buyers) a far better rate than they do people who have been with them for years (I found this out the hard way :-) ... so we phone them up to cancel...tell them exactly what we are doing with a few choice words thrown in...and take out brand new insurances every year...what a palaver!
Lol...it's getting to the stage now where we are on first name basis!

    Cheers

I need to find car insurance, my policy gone up big style as well. Used comparison site and found one £100 cheaper, but gonna see if I can go any lower as £400 still way too much.

My car insurance is quite cheap at the moment seeing I have a lunatic named on the policy as well ( OH ) I am sure he took his test on the dodgems, In fact I have been known to jump out of the car in the middle of the road before now
