I wanted to be a lot of things. A mother (never going to happen!), nurse (yuck, I feel so sorry for those poor people that have to deal with blood, urine and vomit all day), artist (can't draw), performer (nooo way).
When I grow up, I'll let you know.
A teacher for needlework, cookery, and art. 2 of those subjects are no longer taught. Then I wanted to be an air hostess. Was a much more glamorous job then. In the end I just got married.....
When i was at school i missed half because of illness. But made up studying at home and was always near the top of the class.I wanted to be put into the academic stream at school as i wanted to go on to collage and uni but the headmaster refused as i was ill a lot.So was put into the gardening and building stream. As i had no interest in this i lost interest in school. The only thing i learnt was if i buried the tools i could just sit the class out.Other teachers stood up for me and said i had the brains to get on.But it was all about numbers.Had to have so many in each stream and blow the fact that the children had no interest in the stream they were given.Any way i wanted to be an cosmologist.
Reincarnation is just another repeat
When I was very little, I wanted to be a farmer's wife. I had this rosy-cheeked vision of somebody who pottered about throwing corn to chickens, and baking pies. When I got older I realised a) it was jolly hard work and b) you had to marry a farmer. Computers were easier.
I guess I always wanted to be an artist. Went to college for illustration and graphic design, did well until Reagan cut funding for low income folks and I couldn't finish. No one will look at your work unless you have a MA around here. So I became a cook, managed resturants then hotels. Now I'm semi retired and can work on my art while taking care of the grandsons. Hopefully my next adventure will include resin jewerly I'm a thinking.
