    Default How does tagging work?

    Ok.....i'm a technical numpty....so here goes

I've probably got a couple of thousand images hosted on Photobucket.....and about a thousand on ebid.

But, I picked up on a comment made by Gothicina, about adding correct titles to photos.
Can anyone explain how all these "titles" and "tags" work please....and the best way to maximise the effect?
Are they found by Google Images? Search engines?

    (in laymans terms please )

The following blog explains it, without getting too technical.
Although it's about advertising Holiday Homes, the principles apply across the board.

    Hi
I hope I can help. Several things occur with title attributes. I also have images hosted on Photobucket.

    HTML Example: <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p189/ll4now/SellMe/Images/beanieBabiesBebid.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket" or title="Beanie Babies"></a>

You can replace the text in red with a link to your store, that way if the user clicks on the photo they will be directed to your site. Target_blank lets you open a new browser page with the link.

The text in blue the alt or title attribute, they are similar in that when the user mouse over the image, title text will appear to the user. In addition, if the webpage takes time the load the user can see the text in the title attribute instead of nothing (good webpage design etique). Put keywords in the title text to help in google searching for your item. ex: title="Sailor Bear"

I hope this was helpful, let me know if you have any additional questions. You are welcome to check out my stores and/or items - I have used some basic html to create banners, webpages, images with my store links shown on them (personal copyright in case they appear under google images - can't miss an opportunity).

For title tags - I have tried to used them under WYSIWYG and when I go back to verify my html, I find out that the information between the <title></title> is no longer there - weird.

    Good Luck
