hmmm... I know the flash intro isnt my cup of tea, detracts from the main site. Thats personal taste though. Also remember that not everyone, even these days, has broadband. You want a fast loading site with information on it, that is easy to navigate.
Personally speaking (and from having just been spending a few hours making a website for the same reason), I think you are wasting a lot of opportunities.
Add a few words about yourself, your stores, selling policies, and ebid in general.
Add a join Ebid link using your buddy points link.
Make sure you have up to date meta-tags. Use search engine submission engines like Submit Express to get your site out to search engines.
I am also exploring the use of webrings and other free online promotion tools.
Even if you just spend an hour or two a day on doing these promotions, it all helps get the word out there (I hope )
thanks for the advice
just added the ebid link for new members and the ebid logo
its an ongoing (learning) experience, but ill get there in the end
thanks again

Do you know how much it is after the first year.
hello
normal price is £9.99 per year, special offer at the moment at 123.reg
You can get a brilliant site from http://www.officelive.com/en-GB/free-website
It is free and from microsoft, and you get about 500mg which is massive for a free site. Its easy to use too, and has a site builder. You can also add html if you want
do you mean the one of you on the beach?
Just out curiosity - wouldnt it be easier just to register your user name as a url, and point it at your ebid about me page? Or directly at your ebid store?
