ive been keeping busy , sound like you all have to. Moni hope your nan has settled in ok and i hope your not feeling to glum hun as it's hard going this time of year as the winter feel like it's draging on . Soon be spring i can't wait till i can get out in to the garden and enjoy the sun . Pearly sounds like you have plenty of stuff to do to keep you busy, as for the clowns sorry don't like them either .

It was bad news for nan I am afraid she has had a MRI now get the results on Tuesday to see how far it has spread & if they can operate.
She has gone home for a few days she needs to keep her independence & we need the rest. So I think se will stay a few days per week & go home for a few days best of both worlds then x

Hi Moni, sorry to hear it wasn't such good news for your nan. Fingers crossed for the results though

When mom started where she is now, she went for adult day care and then progressed to staying a few days there, a few days here. That would be my ideal setup right now, except she has too much specialized equipment to drag from place to place (bed, oxygen concentrator, etc). I think the arrangement with your nan will work out well for all of you, as you say, she having her independence and you & Barry having your own space too.

Hello to everyone, catching up on some listing inventory since we're in the middle of getting 8+ inches of snow today. Ugh, this winter has been one snowy son of a .....



Don't know how well you can make that out, it's Pearl asleep in front of the wood heater Mark made years ago from an old oil barrel. He stuffed it into the fireplace and we've been heating the house with it for about a month. The blue plastic tub to the right of it got a few inches closer to the heater one night and the rim melted, but the dogs fall asleep with their paws touching the bottom of the barrel and suffer no ill effects!

Hi Pearly,

Well good news & bad news I am afraid.
The good news is the cancer appears to be confined to the womb.
The bad news is nan will have to have a hysterectomy.
This will take place very soon we are to see another surgeon on Friday we will get the date then.

It isn't all good news, but at least it isn't all bad news either.

Good that they are ready to act quickly, and also good that your nan sought advice early enough to have options --- sometimes people let it go too long.
