Exclamation OFFICIAL eBid response requested for those who wish to know the fate of Ninja Lister.

In eBid's February 2008 Newsletter, eBid said of themselves, the following:

"...we are always open to new suggestions. On our auction site, you are guaranteed to get a personal response, not a lengthy sequence of automated emails. This IS the auction site that listens to what it's members want."

In eBid's newsletters of the past, we were told the following:

March 2008: "Also for users not quite up to speed with our Excel bulk uploader spreadsheet we are nearing the end of the build of our Windows based listing software, codenamed the "Ninja Lister", it allows you to prepare all your auctions offline and upload all at once."

May 2008: "Our Ninja Lister is nearly ready to roll, this will allow auctions to be created offline and uploaded all at once."

June 2008: "With a large influx of new users joining us from other auction sites, we have been asked many times for a way to import auctions from these sites. This is something we have decided to follow up and will soon have the facility ready for use."

June 6, 2008 the eBid newsletter said:
"Our apologies for the delay to our new Shipping Calculator and Ninja Lister, both of these projects have had to have a little more work on them but we will be putting these live just as soon as we are happy with them."

A FULL YEAR LATER: June 27, 2009 the eBid newsletter said:
Our apologies for the late arrival of the Ninja Lister. I know a lot of you have been asking where it is. Once we have all the bugs licked we will put it up straight away.

(We are now entering October 2009; some 19 Months plus, since we first learned about Ninja Lister.)

It is with those statements in mind, that I now ask the managers, supervisors, or "powers that be" at eBid, to PLEASE answer the following 4 questions. They have been asked before..& NOT just be myself; but there have been NO recent responses...short, lengthy, or otherwise from eBid themselves.

Being that it is obvious at this point, that Ninja Lister is known to be taking forever by all concerned, the questions are:

    1) WHAT is going on with Ninja Lister?

    2) WHY is it taking so long?

    3) IS Ninja Lister EVER going to be released?

    4) IF the answer is "yes", then WHEN will it be released?

PLEASE respond to these questions; & prove that eBid is truly different from "other auction" sites.

With growth, comes more new sellers. From those new sellers, come some very basic questions.

Asking for an Official answer/response to what many are asking is not a very large request.

The Ninja is renowned for its secretiveness and stealth - so maybe it has already arrived but nobody has spotted it.

21+ months to develop a working import tool??!!

Inkfrog developed one in less than a week! MANY other "smaller" auction sites have had import tools in use for years.

but, 21+ months to "get it right"? C'MON!

    Wasn't

It looks like Ninja Lister will not make it on time, up until a few seconds ago i thought it would be ok but we've been hit by a last minute bug on the International Shipping form so we are probably going to leave it out for 6am, but you never know. It should be with us within a couple of days though.

Lets hope that that last minute bug does not turn into a pandemic.
It does seem strange that they can develop and relaunch a new and I must say improved website, but don't seem to be able to construct a basic piece of software that would take the site into even higher planes.
Maybe they don't want a few million more listings!
