Smile hello there, i am new!

    Hi there,

i am new to this site, (joined 01/10/09). i am still trying to find my feet.

i was wondering if i can get some help please!!!!!!

    (pulling out my hair here!)

how do i upload my products to be sold on this site, in the buy it now format.

i have got that uploader thing, using the spread sheets, but when i fill it in it does not work!!

it took me ages (2 days) to figure out how to save the spreadsheet as a .txt document. so i saved iot as a .txt. got my item ready, all the fields filled out, got my pics included.

i upload it as i am told but it just does not work!!!!!!!

it seems to have something to do with my pictures!!!

It did tell me not to use pics of my computer, so i have my pics on a site on the net, photobucket.

i have been using my pics like this for a long time with the other popular auction site (you know which it is).

so is there something i am doind wrong!!.

i can see people are using this site with no problems but being as i am not used to this site it is all rather confusing!!!

Please if you can help me with this i will be eternally grateful.

after all i told my boss this was a good idea to use this site as well as the other one.

    so please HELP!!!!

    thanking you all kindly.

    chris x

Do you need to use the spreadsheet method immediately? How many listings do you have to create?

Have you considered making one listing using the web interface, then uploading that so you can see what a correct listing in the spreadsheet looks like?

ok slow down what is the web interface?

i know i must seem thick but i really aint a clue how this all works lol.

i have about 1000 items to up load!!!

also another question?, say i manage to work out how to upload my items, is it similar to the other auction site where i just log in and select awaiting dispatch where i can simply print off the items i need to post out to my customers??

Oh crikey. Look, sorry, I don't want to be rude here... but I honestly think you need to just look around the site, maybe buy something cheap to see how it works, and learn the basics before you start trying to sell - your level of understanding is pretty challenging... Why make life hard for yourself? Take it a little step at a time. When you've looked all around the site and pressed a few buttons, you'll be able to ask more informed questions, and be in a better position to understand the answers.

    Good luck, and welcome aboard!

load your pictures into your gallery on ebid. You can load tem either singularly or compress them into zip files (smaller than 25mb).
When you have done that you can download a CSV file and that will give you the URL's etc for the pictures. Then just copy and past them into the spreadsheet and upload it.
    Job done.

    Welcome aboard.

    Hi & Welcome.
I'm sorry but i'm useless at giving advice, but as Kimbo said, have a look around, & read some of the help threads. That's the way i found my way around here.
I never used the spread sheet, mainly because i didn't have a clue how to, so i list individually & it's pretty quick & easy that way.

    Good luck
    Jane
